Musing 11: On My Biology.

My biology determines my desires and interests. I look at people, I talk to people, and I listen to people because they interest me. I am attracted to them. I don’t look at dirt nor do I listen to dirt because dirt doesn’t interest me.

My biology shapes my consciousness and my consciousness is bound to humanity. If my consciousness exists without my body then it would be a different consciousness without the dictates my body places upon it. What would be left of my consciousness then? Would I be free?
